XoftSpy 

XoftSpy is a product of ParetoLogic. It is a less know program then SpyBot or PestPatrol, but it's been a target of discretions all the time since it was created. Opinions about XoftSPy are very ambivalent. But still as it is anti-spyware it has both good and bad things.

Advantages:

• Simple to use.
• Userfriendly interface: simple and useful.
• Provides fast services.
• Provides moderate coverage.
• Scan is fast and complete.
• Provides descriptions of founded spyware.
• Backup feature. It enables to compress files and removes. This saves space and improves security.
• Scans all system or all hardwares separately.

Disadvantages:

• The program is not free. You can purchase it for $39.95.
• Poor coverage. Less effective than expected.
• Do not provide schedule scanning.
• Do not detect well known spywares, like hijackers.
• Do not warn about spyware installation or attempt to attack PC.
• Unattractive interface, but it's only about design.
• Questionable quality of scanning.
• Definitions are very primitive and non-functional.
• Definitions lacks updates.

Although there are many bad sides of XoftSpy, but at least it's anti-spyware and not a software for spywares or malwares installation as most users think. And maybe it costs more than other softwares, that provides higher quality service.. But anyway there are users that are completely satisfied with XoftSpy.
