As most parasiteware comes using Internet, you should enable your web browser's security. Most spyware affects Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser. You should set your security settings for Internet zone to high level. Other's browser has these settings too.

Almost all spyware comes bundled with other programs. Another way are “bad” Web sites. Hacker also may place some spyware on your computer. Firewall is kind of a solution. Firewall provides defence and security against hackers, spywares from web sites and other parasites. It also may block all web sites that contain porno, gambling, and advertising, all that is bundled with parasites.

Here are some advices how to work and surf safely on Internet.

• Don't download from unknown and unsafe sites.
• Always read End of Users License Agreement and privacy statement.
• Find out what sites are the best and most trusted by users to download software.
• Always read security warnings about specific download.
• Never click anything if you want to get rid of some advertisement. No “OK” or “X”. Only ALT+F4, because any actions you do is information to spyware creator that you've read the advertisement and want that software.
• Don't use P2P file sharing software.
• Try to download less free music, movies or any other files from sites that you don't trust.

Install some good anti-spyware program to protect your computer. There's a number of free and commercial anti-spyware software that is really of good quality. They will not only protect you from spyware, but also will protect your e-mail from spam and other threats.

Firewalls, anti-virus, anti-spyware and some Internet filtering software will give 99,9% safety and protection.
