Hackers 

Some time ago hackers were considered as people that know all about computers and create programs. Nowadays a definition of a hacker doesn't sound good. Hackers writes codes and programs which often are used for illegal purposes, like for Internet terrorism, for unauthorized access to computers. They also modify programs and creates solutions for computer problems. It is also considered that hacker are the ones who design virus and worms. But some of hackers are just computer enthusiasts. They help to solve problems, to fix systems, protect from others hackers.

Hackers are often said to be crackers, because it is thought that hacker breaks into computer and steals data or corrupts it, makes security holes. But this is done by crackers, not by hackers. Although hackers do use non-patched security holes.

Note that not all hackers are dangerous or makes damage. Although users should be aware of every type of hackers. Some of them hacks just for fun, but some of them get money for this. Banks and other financial institutions should be aware of them without doubts. Hackers may also work for political purposes or for religion, ideology.

For individual users hacker may cause troubles in case if user have entered some personally identifiable information: bank account, credit card number, name, surname. Any information that is confidential is available for hacker. He can use it for his own benefit. Also your computer can be flooded with illegal files and programs by hacker, and you might get to jail for this. If malicious hacker breaks into your computer system, problems are almost inevitable.

To avoid any type of hacks and hackers you should have to run a good firewall on your system. It will protect not only from hackers, but also from all others intruders. But first get all information before you choose firewall because there are such types of firewall that not only doesn't protect you but also is like a backdoor or security hole in your system. Also it's essential to have anti-virus and anti-spyware softwares. Never give up passwords using Instant Messengers, IRC or by e-mail. Use only extremely secure sites for entering your personal data. Do not use freeware, P2P sharing systems; do not download free music or videos.

Hackers creates the biggest danger because it's alive human that threats to your security and privacy. Result of hackers work can be disastrous so it's important to take all the possible actions to prevent from it and to improve your security.
